The steep decline in market interest rates is bringing additional stress to company-sponsored pension plans — along with new challenges for CFOs
and other financial managers. Increases in plan costs, higher required contributions and other balance sheet issues are on the front burner in 2009.
While the global downturn has led to a substantial decline in the volume of M&A transactions, it has also encouraged a hunt for
opportunistic acquisitions that are being completed much more rapidly than usual — with an impact on due diligence and other processes.
