Recorded Webcast: Articulating Risk for Everyday ERM
Risk appetite — a company's risk-taking philosophy — provides the critical link between corporate strategy and day-to-day risk taking. Yet insurers often overlook this fundamental step in shaping risk management strategy and establishing clear parameters for everyday decision making. This Webcast focuses on the principles and practicalities of establishing a working risk appetite statement supported by risk limits and tolerances.
External stakeholders are increasingly demanding evidence of clear boundaries and guideposts that inform the nature and amount of risk an organization undertakes. Similarly, company management and employees on the front line need to be on the same page about the firm's risk-taking philosophy and risk limits so they can direct decision making toward areas with the greatest potential to maximize returns.
Join Towers Perrin consultants and Eric Gesick, Chief Actuarial Officer at PartnerRe, as they explore the challenges that have prevented a wider embracing of this aspect of ERM, as well as solutions to ensure that your company’s ERM program is supported by the strong foundation of a clearly articulated risk appetite statement.
What this Webcast Covers:
- How to articulate risk appetite, risk tolerance and risk limits
- Real-world internal and external perspectives
